Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate (HEAR) Program

OER has launched the HEAR Retail Pathway Pilot, this pathway is currently limited to the following municipalities- Pawtucket, East Providence, Barrington, Warren, Bristol, Little Compton, Tiverton, Portsmouth, Middletown, Newport, and Jamestown.

The Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate (HEAR) Program offers two participation pathways: an Income-Eligible Pathway and a Retail Pathway.

The Income-Eligible Pathway serves households currently enrolled in LIHEAP. If you are receiving LIHEAP benefits and are interested in participating in HEAR, please contact your local Community Action Program (CAP) agency to learn more and schedule a home energy audit.

The Retail Pathway is available to eligible low- and moderate-income Rhode Island residents. To apply through this pathway, please complete the HEAR Application linked below.

Important: All applications must be reviewed and approved by OER before purchasing any eligible appliances or completing electrical upgrades or gas capping work.
