Public Record (APRA Request) Process
The Office of Energy Resources (“OER”) is committed to transparency and open government. If you would like to ask OER an energy question, you can access our Constituent Request form on our website (Constituent Request). Many records are available online through the OER’s website or other State websites.
- State employee payroll information can be found on the RI State Employee Payroll Search portal.
- Use the RI Transparency Portal Expenditures Search to browse payments by fiscal year, agency, payee, and program.
- Contracts that exceed $1 million in value and were competitively bid can be found here.
If the information you seek is related to the Office of Energy Resources’ operation but is not readily available through OER’s website or the websites above, you may make an Access to Public Records Act (APRA) request. Per R.I. Gen. Laws section 38-2-1 et seq., APRA requires public agencies to provide access to public records. A formal public records request must be communicated in writing and be reasonably identifiable as a public records request. Request submissions must be submitted in writing to the Public Records Officer identified below.
Alternatively, OER welcomes members of the public to discuss the availability of specific resources with the Public Records Officer indicated below or with any relevant staff member before or instead of participating in a formal APRA request. (Contact Us) This alternative process will likely be provided at no cost and provide the opportunity to engage personally with our staff members.
If you would like to submit an APRA request, OER asks that you fill out and submit the form below:
