New England Heat Pump Accelerator
The New England Heat Pump Accelerator works with distributors, contractors, policymakers, and community organizations to bring efficient, affordable heating and cooling to the region. Through December 2029, the program will expand heat pump adoption in homes across Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island through:
-
Market growth
Making heat pumps and heat pump water heaters easier to sell, install, and afford with pass-through incentives, contractor training, and sales support.
-
Local innovation
Funding state pilots and community grants that overcome barriers to heat pump adoption so that everyone can access clean, efficient home comfort.
-
Resources and education
Giving businesses and organizations practical tools—like calculators, heat pump sales data, and info sheets for customers—that can speed up the technology transition.
With funding from the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) Climate Pollution Reduction Grants, the Accelerator is driving New England toward more affordable energy, healthier air, and a stronger energy economy.
