Program Goals

The primary goal of NEVI Phase 2A is to expand Rhode Island’s EV charging network, with a target of installing at least 10 DC Fast Chargers (20 ports) and 100 Level 2 chargers (200 ports) across the state.

This initiative aligns with the Rhode Island Act on Climate, which aims to incrementally reduce climate emissions to net-zero by 2050. By making EV charging widely accessible to both residents and visitors, NEVI Phase 2A supports Rhode Island’s commitment to lowering greenhouse gas emissions and advancing a clean, efficient transportation system for a sustainable future.
