Lead By Example (State/School/Municipal)

State

The State Agency Lead by Example Energy Program provides essential technical, procurement, and financial assistance to Rhode Island State Agencies, enabling them to implement clean energy projects and lead the way in meeting the greenhouse gas emission reduction mandates established by the 2021 Act on Climate legislation.

We have developed the following programs to support RI State Agencies effectively. The links below offer information on the active program objectives, eligible entities, and the application process:

If you have a funding request that does not fall into one of our existing programs, please fill out our general Request for Funding Assistance Application.

Public School

Our Public School Program aims to provide essential support to public schools in Rhode Island, with an emphasis on underserved districts, by implementing energy-saving measures that improve building occupants' health, safety, and comfort while also reducing energy costs. These investments will not only improve the conditions of these important public buildings but also contribute to the state's Act on Climate law, which mandates economy-wide greenhouse gas reduction targets leading to net-zero emissions by 2050.

We have developed the following tools to support the Public School Program effectively. The links below offer information on the accelerator's objectives, eligible entities, and the application process:

Municipal

Our Municipal Program provides the resources cities and towns need to plan out and execute on their clean energy visions, including technical, procurement, and financial assistance. By supporting Rhode Island communities in improving their facilities, we are enabling them to implement clean energy projects and lead the way in meeting the greenhouse gas emission reduction mandates established by the 2021 Act on Climate legislation.

We have developed the following programs to help communities meet their energy goals:
