Public School Heat-Pump Water Heater Accelerator
The Heat-Pump Water Heater Program is a new program we initiated with a pilot in 2022 to replace old water heaters in government facilities with energy-efficient heat-pump models, that we are pleased to expand to public school districts.
This program provides technical assistance, procurement support, implementation oversight, and financial incentives to Rhode Island Public Schools to accelerate the adoption of clean energy technologies. The new heat pump water heaters can provide immediate energy cost reductions, shrink public sector footprints and support clean energy jobs. In addition, the program aligns with the 2021 “Act on Climate” legislation.
Eligible Entities: All public schools in Rhode Island are eligible for this program.
